400k Cycle Challenge at Easter for Rosabel’s Rooms

ByJoanne Murphy |

Easter is fast approaching and with all of my indoor turbo training on Zwift over the winter and more recently the bike spins outside, I’ve decided to put the training to good use and challenge myself to complete 400km of cycling from 2nd – 5th April as part of the Galway Cycle in support of Rosabel’s Rooms. My good friends Suzanne McClean and Gary Monroe set up Rosabel’s Rooms following the sudden passing of their adorable daughter Rosabel.

The Galway Cycle traditionally sees cyclists make the journey from Maynooth to Galway and back over a weekend, with fundraising supporting a different charity each year. This year to support the work of Rosabel’s Rooms in collaboration with the Irish Hospice Foundation they are encouraging people to swim, cycle or run their way through the Easter weekend by Cycling 400kms, running or walking 40kms or swimming 4kms as part of their 400/ 40/4 Challenge. Participants will have from 06:30am on Friday until 18:30 on Monday to complete the challenge.

I’m planning to embrace the challenge of cycling 400 kilometres over Easter if anyone fancies joining me virtually to complete any aspect of the challenge then please get in touch so we can reach the finishline together albeit apart! It’s the perfect way to enjoy lots of guilt free Easter eggs over the weekend and cake, lots of cake all whilst raising funds for a fantastic cause.

You can support my efforts of cycling 400k over the Easter weekend in a number of ways
