The Connemarathon is one of the world’s most scenic events, comprising of a half, full and ultra marathons, and will take place on the 19th of April in 2026.
The Connemarathon has truly become an International marathon. Participants travel from all over the world and a large number in particular come from France to run the half, full and ultra marathons in this stunning part of the West of Ireland.
Bus transfers to the start line are from Galway, Oughterard, Clifden and Delphi Resort, while the race finish is at Maam Cross.
Courses
- The half marathon starts in Leenane and finishes 13.1 miles away in Maam Cross. Expect some great scenery, a great atmosphere at the start area and two tough hills!
- The full marathon starts at Lough Inagh, takes in the half marathon course and finishes in Maam Cross. Expect a stunning start by the lake and a tough second half to your race.
- The new Ultra course from 2023 will be retained for 2026. Expect 39.3 miles of everything Connemara has to offer!
