National Championships remain the pinnacle of the domestic racing season, and across all disciplines will see the best Irish riders from across the world return to try and win the coveted National Champions jersey.
Over 15 National Championships will take place throughout 2026 across the four provinces.
The first National Championship for 2026 has already taken place, with the Cyclo-cross National Championships hosted by Breffni Wheelers in Castle Saunderson, Co Cavan on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of January.
The second event on the calendar is the virtual eSports National Championships on Saturday, 31st of January.
The Criterium National Championships will take place in Dublin City Centre on Sunday, 17th of May. UCD will be co-hosts for this event. Running in conjunction with Bike Week 2026, it will be an exciting opportunity to bring this fast-paced discipline to Ireland’s capital.
Once again, the Para-cycling Track and Road National Championships will take place across one weekend. Both hosted by the Para-cycling Commission, the Road Race event will take place in Corkagh Park on Saturday, 20th of June, and the Track event on Sunday, 21st of June at Sundrive in Dublin.
For the second consecutive year the Road Nationals, which will include Time Trial and Road Race events, will be split between two clubs. Both run in Mayo, Castlebar CC will host the Time Trial National Championships on Thursday, 25th of June, and Cunga CC will host the Road Race National Championships on Saturday and Sunday, 27th and 28th of June. The Time Trial event will include both para and able bodied riders.
The 2026 Cross Country National Championships will take place on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of July in Waterford. The host club for this event is to be confirmed.
Following the success of the 2025 Downhill National Championships at Ballyhoura, this year’s edition will return to the same venue on the Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th.
The final off-road national championships of the season will be the Enduro National Championships on the 8th and 9th of August, in Cork.
There will be four Track National Championships, three of which will be held at Sundrive and hosted by the Track Commission. The first of these will be the Track Masters on Saturday, 1st of August.
This will be followed by the Youth Track National Championships the following Saturday, the 8th of August. This will be hosted by Kanturk CC in Co Cork.
The Team Track National Championships will be 15th of August and concluding the track events will be the Senior and Junior Track National Championships, including Omnium on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of August.
The Youth Road National Championships will be hosted by Square Wheels on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of August in Tyrone.
The Master Time Trial and Road National Championships will be in Munster on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of September. Further details are yet to be confirmed.
Following the successful introduction of the Gravel National Championships to the national championship calendar, the championships for the popular discipline will take place on Sunday, 20th of September.
Concluding the national championships for the year will be the Hill Climb National Championships on Saturday, 3rd of October.
