Have you ever wanted to give triathlon a go – but weren’t sure where to start? Whether you’re a complete beginner, or have experience in another sport such as swimming, cycling or running, or a Triathlon Ireland member who’s not involved with a club, a New to Tri (New 2 Tri) programme is the perfect place to begin.
Designed with first-timers in mind, these six week programmes offer a welcoming introduction to triathlon. You’ll get hands-on experience with the core disciplines – swimming, cycling, and running – with guidance, structure, and a fun community atmosphere along the way.
The final week even includes a mini triathlon-style event so you can put your new skills into action.
Each weekly session includes a mix of bike, run track, and pool-based training. Details of everything you’ll need to participate are listed below.
Triathlon Ireland’s New to Tri (New 2 Tri) and New to Duathlon Programmes run year-round across the island of Ireland. You can browse some of the current sessions below or filter by region on the Triathlon Ireland site to find one near you.
