Limerick Duathlon Race Report 2026

Limerick TC’s duathlon at the University of Limerick hosted Round 5 of this year’s Duathlon National Series on Sunday, 1st March.

Over 150 athletes arrived at University of Limerick ready to take on the sprint distance course. Each run took in two laps of the university pitches, and the 20km bike on local roads.

Frugier & Pollmann-Daamen Take Top Step

Junior athlete Marin Frugier gave a solid run, bike, run display take his first win of the series in the Open Category. Limerick TC’s Conor O’Brien was second, putting in two impressive run displays on the flat and fast course. Galway’s Barry Egan took the third step on the podium.

Amy Pollmann-Daamen and Lara Buck battled it out in the women’s field. Pollmann-Daamen led through the first run. Lara Buck made up the gap and gained 30 seconds out on the bike course to lead onto the second run. On the second run, Pollmaan-Daamen was able to close the deficit and secure the win. Wicklow TC’s Lara Buck was second, Kathleen Ryan third.
