The Fields of Athenry 10k, hosted by Athenry AC, is back again this year with runners from Galway and beyond set to enjoy the brisk chilly weather and the undulating terrain of the 10km route! For many, the event is as much of a tradition as having turkey for Christmas dinner.

As always the race hat is a welcome bonus for all those participating, with the colour for this year a closely guarded secret.  Be warned, this race sells out fast and this year is no exception with the pre-30th September early bird discounted entry of €20 quickly snapped up by lots of eager participants.

Race entry is now €25 and the event is expected to sell out soon, so don’t be disappointed by missing out, or why not gift an entry to your running buddy this Christmas? Junior rates of €15 for 15-17-year-olds are also available.

2021 saw Mick Clohisey and Aoife Kilgallon take the win after the Fields of Athenry’s imposed break due to COVID-19.
