The Salmon Run Triathlon is one of the most beginner-friendly triathlons on the calendar, with the fastest swim you’re ever likely to do as you swim down the Moy through the middle of Ballina town aided by the tide on its way out to sea.
There are no buoys to look out for either as you swim a straight line down the river and under the bridges with spectators on both sides cheering you on.
Jump onto the bike for a flat and fast out-and-back 20k cycle and then on with the runners as you run along the river down to the quay area of Ballina again with spectators on the course to cheer you along.
Ballina will have a great buzz with the Salmon Festival starting that weekend and for fitness and endurance junkies it promises to be a great weekend with the River Moy Swim taking place on Saturday the 8th, come for the weekend and take part in both, hang around for the craic after.
