Six Irish athletes will take to track action at the European 10,000m Cup which takes place in Pacé, France, on Saturday, June 3rd.
Athletics Ireland views the 2023 European 10,000m Cup as a Performance Development event that can provide leading distance athletes with an opportunity to pursue qualification for major championships and as an opportunity to foster greater depth in the distance events in support of enhanced team performances at the European Cross Country Championships.
Shona Heaslip makes a very welcome return to international competition having last worn an Irish vest at this event in 2018, while Ide NicDhomnaill will be seeking to add to her growing reputation after a recent 15:36 5k showing on the road.
Aoibhe Richardson returns to the Irish singlet once more having enjoyed another medal winning display as part of the Irish European Cross Country team last December.
Efrem Gidey has withdrawn from the men’s team, but the in-form trio of Conor Bradley, Ferghal Curtin, and Evan Byrne should ensure Ireland are well placed in the final team standings with three to score.
