On home soil Mary Fitzgerald (shot put) and Aaron Shorten (1500m) are in competition at the Athletics Ireland Leinster Championships in Carlow.

Speaking about the weekend ahead James Nolan, Head of Paralympic Athletics said: “The athletes are coming into form at the right time. This can be attributed to great planning by them and their coaches but also, it’s summer season and it’s natural to find form as they get a few competitions under their belt. I’m delighted that they’re injury free, healthy, and able to show what they can do.”
