Swim Ireland has announced that it will be hosting its National Open Water Swimming Championships in Lough Lene on Sunday the 28th of July 2024.

The event will include the National 10km and 5km Championships, with the introduction of 1.5km and 3km distances for younger age groups. This forms part of the new open water pathway development programme, as the governing body endeavours to grow the competitive opportunities for open water swimmers.

Swim Ireland will also be running a 1500 and 3000 metre event for anyone who wants to get out and take part in the Swim Ireland Open Water Series.
