The Irish quartet of Rhasidat Adeleke (200m), Andrew Coscoran (Mile), Brian Fay (3000m), and Nick Griggs (3000m) enjoyed superb outings at this afternoon’s Diamond League Meet in London.

Fay and Griggs were first of the Irish to take to the track, taking their places in a stacked men’s 3000m which was ultimately won by Dominic Lokinyomo Lobalu (SUI) in a meeting record time of 7:27.68

Fay would cross in 7th in a 7:34.48 PB to cement his place as third on the Irish all time list behind Mark Carroll’s 1999 record of 7:30.36 NR.

Griggs also posted a personal best performance in the race, smashing his own Irish U23 record to cross in 7:36.59 PB (10th) to move to 4th on the Irish all time list.

Andrew Coscoran clocked a personal best of 3:50.49 PB (8th) in a dramatic mile race which saw a host of athletes impeded as a result of a fall shortly after the gun. The time jumps Coscoran to third on the Irish all time list with only Ray Flynn and Eamonn Coghlan ahead of him.

Rhasidat Adeleke produced another huge Diamond League run, this time clocking a 22.35 season’s best in a stacked 200m which was won by Gabrielle Thomas (USA) in 21.82.

Adeleke’s time was just one hundredth of a second off her 22.34 NR and sees her head to Paris full of confidence on the back of a string of world class performances in stacked fields over recent weeks.
