Cycling Ireland has invited expressions of interest for prospective male and female junior team pursuit riders.
As part of the wider development and expansion of Cycling Ireland’s Pathway Programme, Martyn Irvine, Cycling Ireland High Performance Pathway Coach is looking for junior endurance riders who have had exposure to track training and racing already.
Athletes selected will travel to Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, in January to compete in the Next Generation races.
The travel and competition details are as follows:
- Leave Dublin on January 8th
- Compete on January 10th – 12th
- Return to Dublin on January 12th
Given the limited spaces available, the aim is to take five junior men and five junior women.
The focus in Apeldoorn will be establishing a team pursuit squad and then race in all endurance events where possible.
The aim of initiating a track programme will be to continue with track racing and training throughout the year, so it will be imperative that any candidate riders are able to commit to further events, rather than view this race as a one-off.
The expression of interest form can be found HERE.
Expressions of interest close on Friday, 29th of November.
