The Cyclo-cross National Series comes to a close this Sunday, 5th of January as the series finale takes place at McCrystal’s Track in Jenkinstown, Co. Louth, kindly hosted by Bellurgan Wheelers.
Following three superb rounds of racing, and with the Cyclo-cross National Championships to come the following weekend, McCrystal’s is sure to provide a tough day’s racing.
Heading into the final round Kilcullen’s Tadhg Killeen remains at the top of the Senior standings, 24 points ahead of St. Finbarr’s Richard Barry in second and All human/Velo Revolution’s Timothy O’Regan in third.
Stephanie Roche of Scott Racing leads the Senior Women’s category, just ten points ahead of McConvey Cycle’s rider Rachel Newell and Masters rider Jean Wilson from EPIC MTB in second and third.
Dungarvan’s Aoife O’Donovan is the highest placed Junior female rider. Team WORC’s Greta Lawless is the second Junior rider, and won a UCI C2 race in Clonmel, and taken Ireland’s highest ever UCI World Cup finish in Dublin in December, will surely look to keep that momentum going.
