The Cycling Ireland ORC (Off Road Commission) has opened expressions of interest for riders interested in competing in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, Lievin, France from 31/01/25 – 02/02/25.
Riders may submit an expression of interest to race in any of the following classes: Male and Female Junior, Male and Female Under 23, Male and Female Elite.
The panel will make selection decisions based on stated Selection Aims outlined below.
Expression of interests strictly close on Sunday, 12/01/25 23.59. No EOI submitted after this time will be considered.
Interested riders are now invited to express their interest and should submit a completed Expression of Interest form using this link by Sunday 12 January 2025 at 23:59.
Select riders that are competitive for top 10.
Select riders that are capable of benefitting from this exposure to UCI World Championship CX racing towards being podium competitive in the future at UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships within a 4 year period.
Select riders that have evidenced performance standards and progression this 2024/2025 Cyclo-cross Season, in UCI ranked events – at home & abroad. Demonstrated competitiveness in UCI ranked events is essential.
Every rider submitting an EOI will be considered on demonstrated merit solely
Selections will be made according to the Cycling Ireland National Team Selection Policy. All candidate athletes are invited to appraise themselves of this policy, and the current appeals policy also, which can be found HERE.
No rider will gain automatic selection irrespective of Palmares or results.
The panel will select based on verifiable information submitted.
Riders are wholly responsible to include all relevant information in their EOI in the agreed format for submission: not included = not considered.
There is no obligation to fill all slots allocated to Ireland by the UCI – this is at the discretion of the panel based on performance level of applicants satisfying stated Selection Aims.
Expressions of Interest are open from Wednesday 8th January 2024 until 23:59 Sunday 12th January 2025. The Information gathering meeting and Selection panel meeting will take place in the week that follows. We will endeavour to contact all athletes within 24hrs of the selection panel meeting taking place with the outcomes from selection.
