Indoor League Titles Down for Decision in Athlone

ByEmma Porter |

The postponed first round of the AAI National Indoor League takes place at the TUS International Arena in Athlone this Saturday (Feb 8th), with this year’s indoor league titles on the line.

Due to a postponement in January, this year’s titles will be based on the combined scores from round 1 (Feb 8th), and the already completed round 2 (Jan 19th).

Dundrum South Dublin and Clonliffe Harriers will look to defend their respective indoor titles with both clubs well positioned following the opening round results back on January 19th.

Clonliffe currently lead the way in the men’s competition, with DSD and Ratoath biting at their heels. Ratoath will look to go one better than last year’s second place, while Craughwell AC are another not to be discounted.

Dundrum South Dublin sit in second place in the women’s competition following the opening round, with last year’s third placed team, Ratoath AC, currently leading the way.

Teams from St Laurence O’Toole, Craughwell AC, Clonliffe Harriers, and Tullamore Harriers will fancy their chances of getting into the shakeup for a podium finish.

League action gets underway from 10am.

There will also be a quality session 2 in the afternoon with a host of top-class entries among the guests including Rachel McCann, Lauren Cadden, Jack Raftery, Cillin Greene, Sarah Leahy, Marcus Lawler, Gabriel Kehinde, Sean Aigboboh, and Matthew Callinan Keenan to name but a few.
