The popular Flat Out Duathlon hosted by Athy Triathlon Club is back for 2025 taking place on Sunday March 30th with a fantastic reputation the flat, fast, fun and friendly event is expected to sell out once again this year.

Part of the  2025 Triathlon Ireland BMW Duathlon National Series (NS) it is expected to attract athletes of all abilities from beginners taking part in their first event for fun, to elite athletes chasing NS points and everyone between. The idea is to have a good time while achieving your personal goals.

The 3km run course will be the same as in 2024, starting within Athy Primary Care Centre and transition on the R418 and then the new Athy Distributor Road. The course is flatter than the last few years, taking advantage of the wide, smooth shared use path along the new road.

The bike is an out an back on the super smooth N78. This is a fast, rolling route with a couple of hills. The final km or so before the turnaround and the first km after it are the hilliest parts of the course so you have a fast start and a fast finish with a bit of a challenge in the middle. The bike course remains the same as last year.
