National Road Cycling Takes to Blarney

Fresh off the intensity of the Des Hanlon Memorial, the Irish road racing season continues with one of the most anticipated races on the calendar – the Donal Crowley and Kay Stratton Memorial Road Race. Hosted by Blarney Cycling Club, the next rounds of national graded events will take place on Sunday, April 6th and promises another thrilling day of racing.

With a challenging course, rich history and strong local support, competitors can expect a real test of endurance and tactics on the rolling roads of Co. Cork.

Race Details and Distances

All races will roll out from Blarney GAA Complex (T23 KP73) at 12pm, with sign-on open from 10am.

Patsy Crowley Prime Award

In memory of Patsy Crowley, the Crowley family has kindly sponsored the Patsy Crowley Prime Award for the first C1 rider to crest the Mountain Road from Nas on the first lap of the C1 race. This adds an extra layer of competition to an already demanding course.

Entry and Sign on

Pre-entry is essential, with the closing date set for Saturday, April 5th at 2pm. Riders must register via Eventmaster, as no entries will be accepted on the day. Riders cn submit their entry HERE.

Looking Ahead

With the National Series heating up, each race is becoming more crucial for riders looking to score points and make their mark. Next up is the PJ Logan Memorial race hosted by Island Wheelers on 13th April. Entries can be found HERE.

This weekend also sees Round 2 of the Para-cycling Revolution Cup take place in Westmeath on Saturday, as well as the Carn Classic in Derry. Sunday will see the Jimmy Watson and Debbie Barclay Memorial youth races take place in Antrim.
