2025 European Sprint & Standard Distance Duathlon Championships in Rumia, Poland
Last week, 12 Age Group athletes proudly represented Ireland at the 2025 European Sprint & Standard Distance Duathlon Championships in Rumia, Poland. The competition took place on April 26th and featured both sprint distance (5km run, 20km bike, 2.5km run) and standard distance (10km run, 40km bike, 5km run) races. Our Irish athletes delivered outstanding performances across a variety of age groups, bringing home several podium finishes and strong top-10 results:

2025 World Triathlon Powerman Middle Distance Duathlon Championships Alsdorf, Germany
On April 27th, five Irish duathletes competed at the prestigious World Triathlon Powerman Middle Distance Duathlon Championships in Alsdorf, Germany. Athletes faced a challenging course of a 10km run, 60km cycle, and another 10km run.
Age Group Results:
- Diane Behan (55-59 Female AG) – 7th Place
- Fergus Meade (40-44 Open AG) – 11th Place
- Seamus Allison (60-64 Open AG) – 27th Place
- Owen Barron (60-64 Open AG) – 8th Place

Elite Races White & Cornyn in Action
In his first race since the Mixed Team Relay in Abu Dhabi in February, Russell White finished 8th in the pro race at Challenge Mogan-Gran Canaria. Niall Cornyn finished 19th in the competitive Elite Men’s field in Alsdorf, having been in the heart of the action throughout the race.
