The 2025 UEC Jnr and U23 European Track Championships returns to the popular venue of Anadia, Portugal from 15-20th July. The 2025 UCI Junior Track World Championships will take place in the velodrome at the Omnisport complex in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, from 20 to 24 August 2025.

Expressions of interest for selection are now invited for both events, with a closing date of 5pm on Monday 12th May and selections to follow that week.

High Performance Director, Iain Dyer noted, “We were fielding enquiries from athletes and parents wanting to firm up plans for this summer period – not only their racing calendars, but also family events over the summer and even Proms! With the recent Gent International Track GP being the last international junior track event before the Euro’s and Worlds we agreed that we could look at an earlier set of dates to settle selection at the earliest time where we could be clear on athlete trajectory and performance levels ahead of championship level events.”

Selections for the UEC European Track Champs will take place following the closing date for expressions of interest, and for the Juniors these selections will also form the long list squad for the UCI Junior Track World Championships. Performances at the European Champs will be evaluated and final selections will then be made for the World Championships.

Dyer added that, “Performances at the Euro’s will give us a good guide to how we will shape up at the Worlds a month later. No World Championship should be taken lightly but we would be hopeful of building momentum through both events. The UCI Jnr Track World Champs is no longer tied in to the Elite Track Worlds eligibility mechanism, however if we have a good cohort moving through the HP Pathway, we’d like to attend this Worlds if the riders are ready with it being close to home on this occasion.”

A mandatory pre-event prep camp in Anadia is planned before official team training begins, so team pursuit riders that are selected must be available to travel on the 7th July, (with the potential exception of any solo bunch riders).
