Battling gusting winds and persistent rain, Ireland’s best Para-cyclists converged at the Sundrive Velodrome for the 2025 National Para-Cycling Track Championships. Despite the testing conditions, the event delivered thrilling performances, personal bests, and head-to-head showdowns in both tandem and solo events across multiple classifications. Paralympians Richael Timothy and Josephine Healion were in action, joined by emerging talent Conor O’Callaghan who is a member of the Aspire development programme.

Women’s Tandem (WB)

The pairing of Josephine Healion and pilot Deirbhle Ivory swept the sprint and time trial events in the women’s tandem category:

• 200m Sprint: 12.16s raw / 10.94s factored – 1st place

• 1km Time Trial: 77.3s raw / 69.5s factored – 1st place

• 4km Pursuit: 5:56 raw / 5:21 factored – 3rd place

Jessica Kennedy and Autumn Collins secured second place in all three events:

• 200m Sprint: 13.16s raw / 11.84s factored

• 1km Time Trial: 80.0s raw / 71.1s factored

• 4km Pursuit: 5:48 raw / 5:13 factored

Men’s Tandem (MB)

Ciaran O’Toole and pilot Cian Keogh posted the fastest pursuit time of the day:

• 4km Pursuit: 4:55 – 1st place

They also placed third in both:

• 200m Sprint: 13.09s

• 1km Time Trial: 75.7s

Ben Cussen and Richard Barry rounded out the MB field with consistent efforts across all events.

Solo Bikes – 200m Sprint (C1–C5)

Chris Burns (MC2) topped the solo 200m sprint field:

• 13.41s raw / 12.02s factored – 1st place

• Tojo Lazzari (MC5): 12.75s raw – 2nd place

• Heather Jameson (WC3): 15.11s raw / 12.91s factored – 3rd place

• Richael Timothy (WC3): 15.69s raw / 13.39s factored – 4th

• Cormac O’Callaghan (MC1): 16.76s raw / 14.63s factored – 5th

Solo Bikes – 1km Time Trial (C1–C5)

Chris Burns again led the field:

• 84.7s raw / 1:15.9 factored – 1st place

• Richael Timothy (WC3): 92.5s raw / 1:18.9 factored – 2nd

• Tojo Lazzari (MC5): 79.5s raw / 1:19.5 – 3rd

• Heather Jameson (WC3): 94.8s raw / 1:20.9 factored – 4th

• Cormac O’Callaghan (MC1): 94.5s raw / 1:22.5 factored – 5th
