Triathlon Ireland has confirmed that the 2025 Para-Triathlon National Championships will take place at Tri the Lough, hosted by Omagh Triathlon Club in Loughmacrory, Co. Tyrone.
Loughmacrory has long been regarded as one of Ireland’s most scenic local triathlon venues. Set against a peaceful lakeside backdrop and supported by a dedicated club team, the venue provides an ideal setting for both seasoned triathletes and those just starting their triathlon journey.
The course is based around the lough and surrounding roads, offering:
- A calm, clean swim in the lough
- A bike course on quiet local roads
- A run on a flat, spectator-friendly loop
Para-Triathlon National Championships
The event will be open to all National and World Triathlon classified para triathletes. Support services and course adaptations will be in place to accommodate a variety of classifications. Technical Officials with para experience will be on hand to ensure a fair and rewarding race for all.
Athletes competing in the Para National Championships will race over the Sprint Distance:
- Swim: 750m
- Bike: 20k
- Run: 5k

Try-a-Tri: An New inclusion event
Curious about triathlon? The Try-a-Tri is a fantastic, low-pressure way for people with disabilities to get started! With shorter distances and a super friendly, fun atmosphere, it’s all about trying something new, meeting great people, and having a blast along the way!
Try-a-Tri Distance:
- Swim: 300m
- Bike: 10k
- Run: 2.5k
First-timers, returning athletes, and club members are all encouraged to take part and enjoy the atmosphere of a National Championship event week. This event is open to those aged 16 and over.
