Para Athletes Set for 2025 National Championships

The 2025 National Senior Track and Field Championships take place this weekend (August 2nd and 3rd) at Morton Stadium in Dublin, with a number of Ireland’s top Para athletics stars set to compete.

With the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi fast approaching, this offers a significant opportunity to test themselves against the country’s finest in one of the most anticipated events in the athletics calendar.

Paralympic bronze medalist Orla Comerford will take to the track in the women’s 100m on Sunday where she will be joined by Lana Sutton who will also compete in the 200m on Saturday.

Paralympian Greta Streimikyte in the women’s 1500m with the heats to take place on Saturday followed by the final on day two.

“At a very positive time for Irish Para Athletics, with many breakthrough performances from our developing athletes, it’s fantastic to see three of our world top-five ranked Para athletes showcasing their talent at the National Senior Championships this weekend,” said James Nolan, Head of Paralympic Athletics.

This is a ticket-only event and they can be purchased HERE or on the day. RTÉ will have live coverage of Sunday’s events from 5pm on RTÉ 2.

Saturday, August 2nd 

  • 13:00: Women’s 200m Heats – Lana Sutton
  • 15:20: Women’s 200m Final – Lana Sutton*
  • 16:25: Women’s 1500m Heats – Greta Streimikyte

Sunday, August 3rd

  • 13:25: Women’s 100m Heats – Orla Comerford and Lana Sutton
  • 15:10: Women’s 100m Semi-Finals – Orla Comerford and Lana Sutton*
  • 18:00: Women’s 100m Final – Orla Comerford and Lana Sutton* (Live on RTÉ2)
  • 19:05: Women’s 1500m Final – Greta Streimikyte* (Live on RTÉ2)
