The Galway Gravel Grinder is back for 2025, the much anticipated return of this popular gravel event returns on Saturday September 13th.   Born out of the rugged West of Ireland, Galway Bay Cycling Club will host the Galway Gravel Grinder in and around the Galway Wind Park on the outskirts of the West of the City of the Tribes.

The event will offer a little bit of everything Ireland has to offer for a truly unique gravel cycling adventure. Forest roads, farm roads, boreen roads, single track and a whole bunch of good ‘ole gravel!

The Galway Gravel Grinder will start in the  village of Moycullen where a gentle, neutral rolling start will quickly give way to a classics-like introduction to Irish boreen and gravel sectors.

After 20 kilometres of classics style terrain, the route turns into the Galway Wind Park where gravel roads, fun climbs and the gorgeous terrain and views of Connemara await.

There are three distances to choose from on the day

    • Epic  – 125k
    • Crush – 100k
    • Craic – 65k

The Entry Fee of €65 includes food and water at feed stations, event t-shirt for first 250 participants, finishing prize, as well as a post-ride burger and beer. Non-Cycling Ireland (CI) members will be required to purchase a one-day CI license for €10.
