Bike Ballinrobe Ultra Cycling Event

ByJoanne Murphy |

There’s been a big increase in recent years in the number of ultra cycling events cropping up in Ireland, with the sport enjoying a boom and big interest from cyclists of all levels and backgrounds dipping their toes into this type of endurance racing.

Joining the calendar for 2022 is the latest event from Raceface events;  Bike Ballinrobe Ultra on March 12th 2022 which offers riders the opportunity to take on a six or twelve hour race as a solo, pair or four person team (12 hour only)

The nature of this event, taking place on the ambulance track at the racecourse, will make the perfect starter or training event for anyone looking to get into, or are preparing for a longer multi-day ultra event. With a traffic free, safe environment there is plenty of space on the oval flat one mile course to pedal away the hours whilst racing against and chatting with fellow competitors.

Places on the starting grid will be limited to 50 bikes, the event is expected to be oversubscribed as its first out of the blocks in 2022.  Why not get your club to sign up, or team up with your training buddy to tackle this event which is sure to keep your legs turning over the winter months as you rack up your training miles and hours in the saddle.

Set your distance or lap target, have a race off with your training buddies as a solo rider to see who can go farthest the fastest, or buddy up and share the load across your two or four person team for a more social fun race.

Entry is now open HERE

*For all participants that sign up to Bike Ballinrobe,  can avail of a 15% discount if looking to take on any of the Wild Mayo Ultra distances also organised by Raceface events.
