Irish wheelchair racer Shauna Bocquet produced an excellent performance to take victory in the women’s wheelchair race at the Berlin Half Marathon, crossing the line in 59:11.
Competing just one week on from her third-place finish at the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon, Bocquet returned to racing in strong form to secure the win in Berlin, backing up her recent international performances.
Racing against a competitive field, the Galway athlete controlled her race well to come away with the victory, adding another significant result to her growing list of performances on the international road racing circuit.
The Berlin Half Marathon is one of Europe’s leading road races, attracting elite wheelchair racers from across the world, and provides a key opportunity for athletes to test themselves in high-level competition.
