Cornyn and Kinsella National Duathlon Series Winner

An exciting Duathlon National Series has concluded for 2025 after eight challenging rounds of racing throughout spring. Hundreds of athletes took to the start line to push their limits and chase their personal bests across some of Ireland’s best duathlon courses. From experienced athletes aiming to top previous performances to newcomers seeking a new challenge, the series delivered excitement and achievement at every level.

The most ambitious athletes set their eyes on the Duathlon National Series titles, collecting points at each round in pursuit of a spot on the national podium. The 2025 season kicked off with a significant milestone in Irish multisport with the introduction of the My Tri Ranking system. Every participant was listed in the Irish National Athlete Rankings, allowing athletes to closely track their progress and see how they ranked on a national scale for the very first time. With a new level of competition and added excitement to the series, the overall 2025 Duathlon National Series winners emerged, showcasing their impressive performances.

Women’s Duathlon National Series

Aine Kinsella has taken the overall win for the 2025 Duathlon National Series, earning a total of 881.12 points from three standout performances. Her victories at Tramore and Carlow Duathlon, combined with a strong runner-up finish at Limerick Duathlon, secured her the top spot in the women’s rankings. Representing Waterford Tri Club, Kinsella’s win is preceded by two near-podium finishes in 2023 and 2024, where she placed fourth.

Roisin Kelleher finished in second place overall in the series, with 850.52 points earned across four races. A standout weekend featuring back-to-back victories at the Knockma and Galco Naas Duathlons secured Roisin’s place on the leaderboard, alongside a strong third-place finish at the season opener in Tramore. This marks Kelleher’s second consecutive appearance on the National Series podium, building on her third-place finish in 2024.

Anna McGinley has claimed third place in the 2025 Duathlon National Series, earning a total of 813.95 points from three rounds. A third-place finish at the Knockma Duathlon, followed by a strong second-place performance at the Lisburn Duathlon, helped secure her place on the overall podium. This result marks McGinley’s debut on the Duathlon National Series podium.

Men’s Duathlon National Series

Niall Cornyn took the win in the Men’s category with an impressive score of 907.83 after claiming victory at 3 series races and securing the 2025 National Duathlon Champs title in Limerick. His performance at the first race of the season, Tramore Duathlon, kickstarted his path to victory, where he scored the highest number of points out of his 3 races. His success streak continued with a win at Limerick Duathlon, and his performance at Galco Naas Duathlon sealed his claim to the Duathlon National Series title.

This marks Cornyn’s return to the top of the podium, having previously won the Duathlon National Series in 2018. He also claimed the National Duathlon Championship title in Limerick earlier this season, adding to a long list of podium finishes, including his national title win in 2022.

Enda Bagnall secured second place in the 2025 Duathlon National Series with a total of 870.28 points across four races. A standout win at Belpark’s Phoenix Park Duathlon cemented his runner-up position, backed by strong podium finishes at both the Tramore and Carlow Duathlons. Representing Eden Tri Club, Bagnall returns to the National Series podium for the third consecutive year, having finished 3rd in 2024 and 2nd in 2023. A seasoned duathlete, Bagnall demonstrates consistent results each year, including a 4th place finish in 2022.

Christopher Horgan secured a third-place finish in the 2025 Duathlon National Series, earning a total of 859.09 points across four races. With impressive second-place results at both Belpark’s Phoenix Park Duathlon and the Carlow Duathlon, Horgan climbed the rankings to claim the final spot on the podium. This achievement marks the athlete’s debut on the Duathlon National Series podium.
