Cycling Ireland Major Events Calendar Announced

ByEmma Porter |

Cycling Ireland has confirmed the dates for all National Championships, as well as National Series dates and locations for the Road National Series and Cross County MTB National Series for 2024.

New additions to the National Championship calendar include Cycling E-sports and Gravel. Following a successful demonstration event in 2022, Cycling E-sports is now run as an approved National Championship, taking place at the end of January. More information and event technical guides will be released shortly. Gravel is one of the newest UCI disciplines, with an ever-growing array of events in Ireland. For 2024 the Gravel National Championships, the event will be run as a ‘demonstration event’, with more details to be confirmed in Spring 2024.

Both the Road and Cross County MTB National Series will consist of five rounds. Dates for the Downhill MTB, BMX, and Paracycling National Series will be released in early 2024.

Cycling Ireland can officially confirm the 2024 domestic road calendar, following discussions between the Events Team and the Provincial Coordinators. A separate Women’s calendar has been produced in collaboration with the Women’s Commission.

Additional races will be added to the domestic calendar throughout the year. These events will be approved at the discretion of the Cycling Ireland Events Team and respective Provincial Coordinator, taking into the account the existing calendar of events, as to avoid clashes.

A further calendar of Youth Events will be produced in early 2024, featuring events across all disciplines.
