Daragh McSherry & John Doyle are taking on a Middle Distance Triathlon this Saturday, December 11th to raise much needed funds for Aware.   The two triathletes will swim 1.9km, bike 90km and finish their event with a 21.1k run to complete a middle distance triathlon.

Speaking about the challenge ahead this weekend, John, who is a member of Portmarnock Triathlon Club  said ” I live with severe depression and know how hard it can be to live with this and find the right support, so I want to support this great charity so others don’t have to surfer alone. Triathlon has been my saving grace and allows me to channel my emotions in a positive way for my mental Health

Daragh from Belpark Triathlon Club said “After a disappointing hiatus from racing due to Covid i’m looking forward to tackling the 70.3 challenge with John in the depths of December to help raise funds for Aware whose great work continues to help so many people”

Aware’s goal is to create a society where people affected by stress, depression, bipolar disorder and mood related conditions are understood, supported, free from stigma, and are encouraged to access appropriate therapies.
