Mona McSharry has won two silver medals in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke at the 2024 Division 1 NCAA Championships over the weekend, as well as assisting the 4×100 Medley team to a bronze medal.
In the final race of the meet, Tennessee secured its fourth-place finish in the team standings by taking fifth overall in the 400 free relay. The lineup of Brooklyn Douthwright, Mona McSharry, Josephine Fuller and Camille Spink touched the wall in 3:09.70 to cap off the strong meet for the Lady Vols and hold off a late push from Stanford.
McSharry’s impressive meet ended with the silver-medal sweep of the breaststrokes. She touched the wall in 2:04.07 to take second in the Championship final, marking the second time in her career she won silver in the event. For her NCAA Championship career, McSharry boasts four medal-winning performances, and after the 400 free relay, she’s a 23-time All-American—seven of which are first team honors in the breaststrokes.
McSharry was part of the University of Tennessee team who were fourth overall in the Championship standings.
Also competing was Molly Mayne, who claimed bronze in the 4x50m Medley Relay and third place overall with her Florida teammates.
