Downhill National Series 2024 Preview

The Downhill National Series (Irish Downhill Mountainbike Series) is back this weekend as the best riders in Ireland take on Carrick Mountain, in Co. Wicklow.

The full gas discipline is among the fastest growing part of cycling in Ireland and boasts strong participation across a variety of age categories.

With a growing domestic scene matched with several Irish riders shining among the best in the world on the international scene, there’s never been a better time to get involved in downhill mountain biking.

Here’s everything you need to know about Round One of the 2024 Downhill National Series:

Date & Location

Round One of the 2024 Downhill National Series takes place at Carrick Mountain, Glenealy, Co. Wicklow on Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and 12th.

Schedule

Saturday, May 11th

  • Sign on 8.00-10.30 am
  • First up-lift 8.45 am
  • Lunch (track closed – no uplifts) 13.00-14.00
  • Seeding Runs 14.00-16.00
  • 16.00 onwards track closed

Sunday, May 12th 

  • First up-lift 8.45 am
  • Lunch (track closed – no uplifts) 13.00-14.00
  • Race Runs 14.00-16.00
  • Start times for seeding and race runs will be posted at the event.

2024 Downhill National Series Schedule

  • Round 1: May 11th-12th – Gravity BC, Co. Wicklow.
  • Round 2: August 31st -September 1st – Bree MTB, Co. Wexford.
  • Round 3: September 21st-22nd – GAP MTB, Co. Dublin.
