The weekend’s international racing got off to a flying start with a second-place finish for Erin McConnell in the women’s elite race at Sharm El Sheikh African Cup in Egypt.

McConnell was strong across all disciplines of the race but ran herself onto the podium just in front of a big pack of women vying for the same spot

The result is the best of McConnell’s young career and comes 11 months after her 3rd place at the European Aquathlon Champs in Austria last year.
