Recently returned from the UCI Track Nations Cup in Jakarta, part of the Irish Team Pursuit National Record Breaking squad, Lara Gillespie is back performing on the road for the UAE Development team.

Gillespie sprinted to second in the 1.2-ranked Poreč Trophy in Croatia on Sunday. She hit the line one second behind the winner Yanina Kuskova outsprinting several others to secure the runner-up spot in her first international road race with the squad.

The UAE Team ADQ is currently a World Tour Team with the development Team part of the same organisation. Her success in the UAE Development Team will likely lead to opportunities to step up to the World Tour squad for certain races during the season.
