The Joe Duffy BMW Clontarf Half Marathon and 5 mile is back on 6 July 2024 with new routes starting from Alfie Byrne Park.
The new Half Marathon course still has a low elevation gain (38 meters) and remains on tarmac, giving runners a great opportunity to achieve a personal best (PB) while immersing themselves in Clontarf’s beauty. After leaving Alfie Byrne Park, the course journeys up along the Dublin Coast, along Clontarf Road on the promenade, and then on the inbound lane of the Howth Road. The route travels past St. Annes Park and on to Sutton, before turning around and working their way back over to Bull Island & down the coast.
The 5 mile is also an out-and-back course along the Promenade, with a turnaround point at Davis Court.
The Clontarf Half Marathon and 5 mile is held twice annually in July and November.
