Mondello Park has announced that its endurance cycling challenge ‘Mondello24’ is moving to a Summer date for the second edition, taking place across the weekend of June 18th and 19th

After a hugely successful inaugural event, that will forever be known as ‘the Winter edition’ given the conditions riders battled during the night, they will once again host this unique 24-hour endurance race at the famed 3.5km international race circuit only this time with the additional bonus of Summer temperatures and bright skies. 

Whilst leading riders achieved impressive feats over the 24-hours; the winning team covered almost 900kms and the top solo rider achieved close to 700kms, Mondello24 is an event for all levels of cyclists, male or female, solo or team.  Whether you are an experienced rider or a newcomer looking to start exploring the world of endurance cycling, there is a category to suit all abilities as was proven by the 300 plus riders who took on the challenge last October.  Set yourself the goal for 2022 and tackle the race as an 8, 4 or 2 rider team, or, go it solo.  This event is for those who not only want to test their physical and mental strength, but who also want to share this unique cycling experience with others and meet new people in the process.

One of the most unique aspects of Mondello24 was the atmosphere in the paddock and pit lane located in the centre of the circuit.  This was as much a part of the race weekend as the action on the track.  This is an event in which clubs can fully involve members beyond those who will be in the saddle for the 24-hours.  Having the right support crew is a vital element to conquering the 24-hours and reaching the finish line at midday on Sunday.

With 98% of riders who took part in the inaugural race indicating in a post event rider survey that they would do it again, and a high volume of enquiries from onlookers who visited over race weekend, a capacity entry is expected for 2022 – so don’t miss out.
