Opportunity for Junior Triathletes to Compete in European Triathlon Junior Cup in Dublin

Triathlon Ireland has an opportunity for triathletes aged between 16 & 19 to qualify to race at the European Junior Cup at DCT this August.

If you would like the chance to race in Dublin, but aren’t currently on the National Junior or Horizon Squads, read below.

Two upcoming events will be offered as opportunities for athletes aged between the ages of 16 and 19 to qualify to take part in the upcoming Europe Triathlon Junior Cup at Vodafone Dublin City Triathlon on the 26th of August. This is a great chance to race in draft-legal format against some of the best juniors in Europe!

Athletes between the ages of 16 and 19 can enter Two Provinces Triathlon. The second race option is for those aged 16 – 17 and will be at Skerries Youth Series Triathlon.

THE DETAILS

Junior athletes who are not currently on either the Junior National or Horizon Squads will have the chance to showcase their skills at either of the below events, and possibly be selected to race in Dublin over draft legal format. Places will be offered to Junior National Squad and Horizon Squad members in the first instance.

Two Provinces Triathlon on the 8th of July – ENTER HERE

Skerries Triathlon on the 16th of July – 16 – 17 YEAR OLDS ENTER YOUTH SERIES HERE

*It is important to note Triathlon Ireland has stated that winning either of these races doesn’t guarantee selection, all selection choices will be made by the Triathlon Ireland Performance Team. The Triathlon Ireland coaching team will be looking for performance across all three disciplines.

**Please note the age of an athlete is their age on the 31/12/2023.
