Taking place on October 3rd, Run Galway Bay is an annual road race that includes a Full Marathon (26.2 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles), and a 10K.
The routes will take runners from Nimmo’s Pier in the Claddagh, along Salthill’s promenade, around Galway Golf Course, and back again, on what is quite a flat, fast, and scenic route with beautiful views across Galway Bay!
In 2026 there will not be pacing groups at the event as they attract big numbers of people running in close proximity to each other and the course is too narrow at parts. However, roads will be closed but it is just westbound traffic lane that will be closed allowing access for all residents and businesses along the route.
