Run the Streets of Galway 8k This October

ByJoanne Murphy |
In the strangest and most difficult of times over the past 18 months, many events were cancelled or rescheduled including the Galway City Harriers, Streets of Galway 8km race which normally rolls through the City of the Tribes in early August each year.

For the first August in 34 years the Streets of Galway 2020 did not happen. However, the good news is this the race is back for 2021. For one year only the race takes place at a new start, parallel to the Claddagh Hall with a new date & time, Sunday, October 24th at 10.30am.

Since its inception in 1986 the event has grown into one of the most prestigious road races in the country, yet remains true to its original motto of Sport for All, as many locals and visitors take on the event year in year out. The event will bring thousands of participants onto the streets of the City and suburbs into what is a fantastic event for all to enjoy.

Run it for the first time or run it for the 35th time like Patrick Larkin, Ger Meehan and Gerard Murphy who have not missed a year. Savour this race like nothing ever before, as it is a pleasure to be able to run through the city streets which once again full of life, colour and vibrancy.

The race hosted by Galway City Harriers Athletic Club is sponsored by The Galway Clinic.
Register to race on the link HERE, be sure to sign up soon as it will sell out.
