Sette Colli Podiums for McSharry and Wiffen

15 Irish swimmers were in action over the weekend at the Sette Colli Meet in Rome. The meet is a three-day competition bringing together some of the top international talent. Now in its 59th edition, it is considered one of the oldest swimming meets in the world.

Irish swimmers used this competition as a final exposure to top international racing in their preparations for the upcoming World Championships in Fukuoka later this summer.

Daniel Wiffen wrapped up Day 2 of the Sette Colli for Team Ireland with a silver medal in the 800 Freestyle, clocking 7:50.64, making it 5 podium places this evening for the Irish swimmers.

Meanwhile the following athletes were in action in B Finals throughout the evening:

  • 50m Fly Shane Ryan | 23.94 | 6th
  • 200m Breaststroke Niamh Coyne | 2:31.54 | 4th
  • Uiseann Cooke | 2:16.48 | 7th

Next up for many of these athletes will be the Fukuoka 2023 World Aquatics Championships from July 14th.
