Swim in Pink – 5th Anniversary Event

12th October
9am
€25

The hugely popular fundraising event, ‘Swim in Pink’, celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. Organised by the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI) in association with Blackrock Beachwear it has been an incredible success since its beginning in 2020.

Taking place on 12th October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event encourages participants across the country to dip, swim or splash in support of breast cancer research. The swim has won many awards and more than 5,000 swimmers have taken part, raising over €500,000 for life-saving research. With many swims happening nationwide, participants can find their nearest event on the link HERE

Registration costs just €25, with all proceeds supporting the research work funded by NBCRI. Every registered swimmer will also receive a FREE ‘Swim in Pink’ swim cap.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Ireland, with 1 in 7 women expected to develop the disease and over 3,587 new cases diagnosed annually. Researchers funded by NBCRI, based at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway, are currently leading major national and international projects aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

So why not take the plunge and get swimming this October and help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
