Pulse Port Beach will host the 2024 Draft Legal Sprint Distance National Championships on September 28th. A total of €5,000 in prize money will be up for grabs between the male and female Draft Legal Sprint Distance races. The following events will be taking place on the day:
Alongside the Senior Draft Legal race, Port Beach will also host the 2024 Junior National Championships (16 – 19years), the Para Triathlon National Championships and the last round of the Triathlon National Series.
The junior national champs will be run within the Draft Legal race with competitors racing directly against senior athletes but with a separate podium.
The Triathlon National Series event is the main Pulse Port beach sprint distance race and the Para national champs will run within this race, this event is a non-drafting event and one of the biggest triathlons in the country. It will decide Sprint Distance Age Group medals and is also a qualification race for Tri Team Ireland.
The overall male and female winners of the National Series event will not be Sprint Distance Champions (Senior or Junior) however as this title will be conferred on the winners of the Draft Legal Event.
